Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kampala or Entebbe to Kibale National Park, Uganda’s primate capital. The journey takes you through tea plantations, rural villages, and lush countryside, offering glimpses of local life. Upon arrival, check into your lodge near the forest and relax. In the evening, enjoy a briefing about the next day’s chimpanzee tracking while listening to the sounds of the tropical forest. Overnight at Kibale Forest Camp or Primate Lodge Kibale, where you’ll dine surrounded by nature.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetlands Walk

After breakfast, head to Kibale Forest for chimpanzee tracking—an exhilarating experience as you follow these intelligent primates through the dense canopy. Kibale is home to over 1,500 chimpanzees, and you’ll spend one magical hour observing them feed, play, and interact. The forest also hosts red colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, and colorful birds.
In the afternoon, visit the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary, a community-run eco-tourism site teeming with wildlife. A guided walk reveals rare birds, monkeys, and swamp-dwelling species, along with insights into local conservation efforts. Return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Today, you’ll journey south through Uganda’s rolling hills and terraced farmlands, passing Queen Elizabeth National Park (with possible wildlife sightings en route). The scenic drive ends at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Check into your lodge (Buhoma Lodge or Mahogany Springs) and enjoy dinner while preparing for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Experience

The highlight of your trip—gorilla trekking in Bwindi! After an early breakfast, meet at the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Trekking duration varies (1-6 hours) as you hike through dense forest, led by expert trackers. When you find a gorilla family, you’ll spend one unforgettable hour watching them feed, groom, and play—an awe-inspiring wildlife encounter.
In the afternoon, visit the Batwa Pygmies, the indigenous forest people. Learn about their traditional hunting techniques, music, and way of life in an immersive cultural experience. Return to your lodge for a celebratory dinner, reflecting on your primate encounters.
Day 5: Return to Kampala/Entebbe

After breakfast, begin your return journey toKampala or Entebbe, stopping at the Igongo Cultural Center for insights into Uganda’s heritage. Arrive by evening for your onward flight, carrying lifelong memories of Uganda’s incredible primates.
